Well, here it is at long last......the ultimate light set up!

Pah ... not bright enough 60W ....

my old rs had some 100w bulbs ,:eek::eek::eek:ers moved outa the way then! , yea technically its illegal but i never met a copper that didnt think it was a good idea , thats only for main beam tho, kept to 55w for dipped

got a load of hella lights here and some piaa ones that im gonna trial on my gs,

see how many i can get on without overloading homemade loom ...
probally only 1 more set ...

oh and tbh , im sure they work , and work well , but feck it makes the bike ugly, too big .... way to big

OOH OOH OOH OOH OOH OOH OOH OOH NEARLY THERE OOH OOH OOH YE YE YE YE YES YESS YESSSSSSSSSS AAAAARGH

Looks neat and impressive, but I bet your fuel consumption is pants.

I wouldn't want to be riding fast on main beam and then switch to dipped. It would be like turning the lights out !

Think you might have spoiled the aerodynamics of the bike there :P

a nice install, but completely over the top, surely ? (IMO)

a serious concern is that with any set of lights on - can another road use make out an indicator flashing ?

wouldn't it be overwhelmed and not seen ?

I can't imagine any of those aux lights being switched on when there is a driver coming from the front close enough to even see the indicator so it won't make a difference.

Wow, those are awesome lights. Huge! Nice install as only the light god BTBR can do.

Looks even more top heavy than standard.
Does the engine die when all those ampy thingys are diverted to those quasars?

deffo approve of that.#
would that lot fit an 1100?

looks like it should

Nice.....

Looks like the GMT Moto lights mounts for the 510's at the turn signals and the Terranova light bar at with bigger PIAA's mounted. Very nicely done for sure. Both sets of light mounts are IMHO the best available today, not just some bent piece of scrap metal.

OMG!!!
Much as I would like to have that much light, I don't wanna look like an extra from Quadraphenia !!!

Out of interest, should I get the urge for more candlepower, is it just a case of swapping the actual lamp units for PIAA ones? :nenau

Yes sort of, you would need to get the GMT Moto brackets for the top set and the Terra Nova bar for the bottom ones.

Just for the brackets alone you are looking at over £200.....

A cheaper option is to replace the OE bulbs for PIAA Extreme White ones, rated at 55w but give of the same light output as 110w ones.

Like most things with a PIAA label, they are not cheap at around £25......EACH!!

But the setup shown had those bulbs fitted in every light unit. :D :D :D :D :bounce1

So, PIAA bulbs are brighter than my Philips 50% brighter 55W bulbs currently installed?

The ones you have and any other 50% brighter bulbs for that matter, are not even in the same league as the PIAA ones to be quite honest.

50% bulbs are better for people to see you, more than for you to see with. If that makes sense?

Would fitting Piaa bulbs to the headlights of an 1150GS be worthwhile? Or do the reflectors make it a waste of time. The bike also has the BM fog lights fitted, (I bought the bike with them on) what would you recommend? Are there any lights that can be fitted to the BM bar instead of the fogs or am I better off starting from scratch and changing the bar?

Without question

Think I will go for some micro DE's and some Piaa's, possibly the 002-X and a lighting bar from Nippys. :)

Just be aware that you "may" need to drill a extra hole in the PIAA lighting bracket.

The DE's are single bolt fixing and I think that these PIAA ones are two bolt fixing. Because you are mounting one set above the above, it can give you a minor problem.

You will also need to source and cut down a M8 stainless steel bolt in order to affix them. It needs to be no longer than 18mm.

Otherwise you will not get the adjustment on the lights as the body will strike the protruding bolt. :thumb

But you'll see what I mean when you get the lights and bar.

Alan,

What`s the part number for the PIAA Extreme white bulbs that replace the original headlight bulbs?
