Well, looks like Santa came early this year

So, had a few months and a 1000 miles to get us both adapted to each other.

Likes:
Good engine, all the torque and power I need
Fuel range and mileage is great
Much lighter than previous bikes
Heated grips
Comfortable seat
Screen and wide body really keep the elements off the body (except the head, see below)

Dislikes
Screen, I'm 6.3 and my head is in the dirty air from the screen, will need to adjust that
Crap indicator switch, I prefer the old BMW system
Oiling chains

Things to do:
Soft luggage panniers, hard topbox
Crapnav
Proper long trip

So, one very pleased biker. Planning a nice long tour around europe for later this year, can't wait

Good report. No interest in hard bags?

I did consider hard bags, but decided on soft luggage for a couple of reasons, first they weigh less, especially when lightly loaded (and when not in use can be folder up and packed away easily). Secondly, won't ever need to beat soft bags back into shape after an off and no risk of lower limb injuries from case edges. A top box will meet the needs of a few things that need locking up.
