With all due credit to Andy Cole :bow I am sooooo pleased to announce my latest gizmo :D

Me and Andy have been gibbering for sometime now about all things from BBQ`s to tables and he recently sent me a cornflake box but, cunningly, when all put together became a BBQ! Obviously, the first time I tried it it caught fire and I now need new curtains :blast

Anyway, with a little design flair, £250,000 worth of laser cutting tackle and copious amounts of alcohol I have come up with..................... (drum roll)...............

Bugger me, I need help as my gear still `does it for me` when I see it :drool

Here it is with the mesh fitted if you don`t just want to burn kebabs

And here it is flatpacked

All credit to Andy here :bow as without his idea I would not come up with this (he gets one free:thumb2) but with all my gear it is:

1. So robust you can kick it round you estate and it will still work.
2. Made from stainless steel (apart from the grill mesh)
3. Over engineered until my eyes bled.
4. Hand finished and signed by Me :cool

The flatpack idea is brill as it fits inside your panniers (GS and GSA) and WILL NOT break, bend, fall to bits or do anything else which we have come oh so used to in this world of making mass produced stuff as cheaply as possible. Clean it with a jetwash and/or a huge wire brush and it will still be brill.

So, at this stage what I need is a) all due credit to Andy for such a brill idea and b) an idea of who might be interested?

I`ll be down at the hog roast testing it out so look for the tent on fire!

Regards to all,

P.S. Price depends on attitude :bounce1
P.P.S. Thanks for all the feedback on the crud catchers, I am sincerely pleased they have gone down so well with everyone.

Where is the plug?
.
What oil do you recommend on the burgers?
.
Will the 1150 version be heavier and slower to light ?
.
:D

Ha, funny people

And I thought, just for a moment, there wouldn`t be any p*ss taking :D

But anyhooooo

1. About 3, 000 KG`s
2. If you hit the coal hard enough it does `flatpack` before your eyes
3. I`d use 10/40 laced with naptha (something we used to use in Norway :augie but don`t drink it)

Huge Thanks and Lucky Timing

Fantastic Mark, nearly p**sed my pants when I saw the prototype photos, from a small cereal box.....

My idea was that in this country you cannot light fires on the ground, upset the campsite owners etc but with this bit of kit you have a portable firepit/BBQ that folds down to less than a cm thick and sits inside next to the pannier table. Big bonus that it screams GSA and makes you another trophy GSer..!

In fairness my wife needs a little credit for this in not flipping her lid with all the cardboard cuttings littered around the house - good job I've got kids to blame. Can't wait to see the finished article, reckon four holes under the sides will allow small metal hooks to be inserted to stabilise the whole design and these already sit in the bottom of my pannier to hook the table on to the panniers (if you are wondering what I am wittering on about take a look at http://www.r1200gs.me.uk/html/pannier_table.html)

Stamped - ha!

Mate, sorry, but I can assure you that nothing is `stamped` - its all laser profiled with germanic precision on a Trumpf 2530 laser cutting machine.

However, I know what you mean and to answer your question `yes of course`!

Best regards,
Mark

I see a design flaw, in the photo you seem to have 1200 lazer cut into it instead of 1100

another winner no doubt, me thinks you have too much time on your hands or you drink too much, I want the adventure 1200 edition ...how much?

Interested...just waiting on price! Very nice idea... I'm thinking it would be pefect for a canoe trip as well.

When you have a price, I will be wanting one (with the only real engine size of 1100 on it of course:augie)
