Had a test ride last week GSA oh dear Fanflippintastic might have to go see the bank manager!!

BUT does that Neutral to 1st gear selection get any better (or was it just mine?) as I think I would have to avoid sitting next to any other bikes (BM's appart) to avoid the embarrasment of the grinding clunk!?

Mines finds neutral ok enough. But the drop back into 1st still has the clunk. I'm 5k in with mine. Just chuck on a loud can and no one will hear it. :D

Nope, it will always clunk embarrassingly into 1st.

I really don't understand why people have an issue with the clunk into 1st.:nenau

Most bikes do it. I never use neutral, so can't tell you if mine clunks. I'm sure it probably does, but couldn't give a fig, as I always park in 1st gear (after a previous bike had a nap :blast).

The clunk is good... tells the muppet in the steel box next to you that you're about to set sail and lets them know you're there if they are not paying attention (which most aren't)....

Mine finds neutral easy enough with no clunks or drama, clunks into 1st but don't they all ? Not had a bike yet that didn't clunk into 1st gear and this is my 36th bike :D

My MU13 GS TE did clunk. Some time more than others. By comparison my MU16 GSA has a smoother gearbox and most of the time slips reasonably quietly into first. No probs finding neutral.
