I tend to run hot. Last year I bought some Klim Marrakesh pants, but have only just tried them in today's 25 deg C heat & could do with something cooler for our June trip to Italy, Corsica and Sardinia.

I have some comparatively lightweight Halversson's jeans, so maybe they are my best bet, but something with openable vents appeals.

Rukka ForsAir or Klim Marrakesh are about as vented as you get if protection is something you care about. Otherwise shorts and flip flops mate.

It has been done you know…

To be fair, if it is really too hot, just pull over for an hour in the shade. Drink some water and chill, maybe even have a kip.

When I ride in my Rukka ForsAir kit, because it is black it makes you even hotter in direck midday sun, but if need be, I just soak it in water, whether that is from a tap, river or a lake. It is amazing what evaporation does to your body’ core temps.
My advice would be, ditch black kit, and buy something light in colour and that does not absorb the sun rays.

I just purchased a Klim Marrakesh jacket and about to buy single layer riding trousers. As much as I like my mesh Rukka, it doesn’t look great being worn with a casual shirt.

I mean look at this tit!

At least you are in touch with your feminine side with the pink shirt. :augie

My Marrakesh jacket is the Petrol Blue & the pants are what they call Asphalt, which is a mid grey.

The jacket is OK in pretty hot conditions & if it's really warm I have a BMW cool vest, which does dry out fairly fast with a vented jacket, but it's a quick job to soak it again at a petrol station.

Klim Marrakesh but a good second and less money is the Revit Cayenne 2. I have no idea what size you are but this suit has been on eBay for ages. He won't split it though, or I'd be the owner of the jacket now. IMHO Revit stuff comes up a touch small and I buy a size larger.

So is mine 😃 pants I hear are quite baggy so they would look like a pair catamaran sails on me 🤣

Have you looked at Macna cooling vest? Clever kit and only needs a pint of water to work for a fair few hours.

I found the Marrakesh trousers nice and cool with only a pair of shorts on underneath. And that was in Italy/Switzerland a couple of years ago when the temps were mid 30's consistently!

Good gear Revit, ironically despite being a Dutch brand :nenau, it is all to fecking short for my lanky stature.

I have the Marrakesh and find them the most breathable I’ve owned………..having said that, they are black and attract the sun when slow or stationary. Might be stating the obvious, but possibly a colour issue. The old beige Motorrad Summer Trousers worked well in the sun and had convertible bottoms too. Think the Summer 3 was the last I saw in the shops. Of course, not much good if you don’t own a B M double U 😬
Failing that cheap British Bull-it single layer jeans from SBS 👍

Sids Do?

OP,

EV, has it about right.

Ventilated / mesh kit is fine, up to a point. That said, the air you are moving through is still at (oddly enough) the ambient air temperature, maybe even above the ambient if one includes the often significant additional reflected heat from the road.

The cooling effect is therefore somewhat illusory, mostly caused by evaporation of sweat, the body’s own pretty efficient ‘cooing’ method. Evaporation, leads inevitably to water loss and water loss (eventually) leads to dehydration and to a loss of concentration….. or (in extreme cases) worse.

Find the trousers that suit you, wallet and style wise. Then drink lots of water. As in lots and lots of water.
