Ok, so Daithi Wright can't be the only Wright family in Cork so I read the whole article that was published in the Irish Examiner.

and it reads " moments before JS Wright was about to embark on his record attempt he relaxed with a cup of Barry's tea to which he added 11 and a half spoons of sugar.......

there's no doubt in my mind now
