I've booked 22-30 Aug from work and I have some Clubcard points to pay for a tunnel crossing.
Sadly, the usual suspects I go on trips with are perverts. They are going to Gedinne to camp in a field and to be poisoned by the fumes from 2 and 4 stroke racing bikes from yesteryear. I'd rather poison myself with Pomerol in a nice restaurant in Reims or Beaune.
So does anyone fancy accompanying me for the Bank Holiday weekend or the whole week? No fixed plans but I imagine there would be an afternoon tunnel on 22 Aug to stay overnight somewhere in the A26 corridor between St Omer and Reims, depending on the time of the crossing. Probably go from there to the Vosges, Morvan or Burgundy for a few days. Maybe cross the Rhine and have a few days in the Black Forest, or the Ardennes in Lux/Belgium, or maybe this in reverse order:

23: Bouillon
24: Bouillon
25: Colmar or nearby
26: Colmar
27: Beaune
28: Beaune
29: Etreaupont - favourite Logis hotel here
30: Home
Hotels I prefer are mid-range of the Logis/Ibis/Citotel or their independent equivalent. Usually 50-70 euro a night per room.
Return tunnel crossing on Fri 22nd, return 30 Aug is currently £100-120 depending on time of travel as both dates are in peak time.
