Like wot the title says

What bulb for '06 GSA spots? I want to make 'em brighter or simply have a spare but I can't figure out what ones I need.

Can they be upgraded to HID?

If you don't chose to upgrade to HID, then I can recommend Osram NightBreaker (H7). Gives a fantastic light:), though not as much as HID's:thumb2

spot bulbs

they are H11

H11? Grand, thanks guys - not even BMW could give me a straight answer. They thought I had to replace the whole unit!

There's a guy on ebay selling HID units ebay link and references the Forum. Does anyone know who he is?

Don't recognise the ebay guy, but I think most Tossers I know go here: http://www.hid50.com/

Just upgraded both my main lights and aux spots to HiD. The absolute dogs danglies!!:thumb

Don't be put off by the cutting - you need to make a small incision on the back of the plastic spot casing - bearly noticeable and if you ever took the HiD's off to sell the bike I doubt most people would notice.

H11 according to: http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/fiche/MainDiagrams.asp?mospid=49382 and diagram ~63_0956 "Installing set additional headlight"

Definitely not on mine...it takes H7.

Changed main beam only last week and still have the box sat in the garage. Always carry a spare and it has H7 stamped on the outside of the box.
Perhaps there is more than one type of light fitting? Possible change for later models?

Also - Haynes Manual, Section 7.2 explains; R1200 GS, RT and S = 55w H7 and the ST takes a H4.

BMW part Number 63 21 7 160 780 H7 12v 55w...................note the "H7" bit in the code. I have the box next to my key board as I type.

Any more proof needed?

Suggest he takes the light bulb out and see what is stamped on the back flange to be sure!

Good part about H7's is you can ge them anywhere...
