Hi everyone,
I was wondering what you good folk think I should realistically expect to get for my nice condition 850GS.
Year: 2000, Yellow/Silver, 35K miles, ABS, Gel Seat, Heated Grips, Panniers, Spare Remus silencer.
It’s just had a major service which included two new tyres.
Attempts at selling it on Donedeal have not been successful (so far).
I’ve only put 3k or so miles on the bike in the past 5 years so I’m not managing to make proper use of it. I did look at trading it for a second hand burgman 250 but nearly fainted when I heard the offer. I was also hoping to free up a few bob to plough in to getting my old air head back on the road.
Thanks for reading and I look forward to seeing what you think.

ps it has a Cork reg in case that's a bonus :)

welcome Frank

It is a difficult market out there if you are selling any bike at the moment. Bikes are largely cheaper here than in the UK particularly given the poor value of the Euro to sterling. (see the three R850 's listed on ebay uk)
I would have thought it is worth some where in the region of €2,500+/-, yours is the "faster" anniversary model I think,( some one will correct me if I am wrong)
Probably wiser to wait until next year to sell.
Do a search on this site and you may see what they have sold for.
good luck with your sale and come back and visit the site again.
You could try posting it in the GS for sale section on this site, more uk based but lots of bikes going back and forth across the sea.
P.S. of course the cork registration is a bonus.(being an exile of the Republic myself)

Or you could sell it to me for £1700

Or you could sell it to me for £1700

That works out at nearly €2100..... :augie

I'd have thought it would fetch 2½ grand easily with the stuff goin with it, personally I'll be disappointed if it goes for much less than that.

Good luck with the sale. :thumb2

Thanks Folks,
The few on ebay seem to be somewhere from £2,400 up (or asking that).
I looked for 3,200euro earlier on in the year then dropped to 3,000 but was also open to offers at the time. I may have confused the folk out there though as I was keen to exchange for another "interesting" BM at the time.
All the best
Frank

Thanks for the offer HogHog, but I'll see what additional advice surfaces here over the next few days.
Cheers
Frank

Would be interested in this bike in the middle of next year, or even earlier maybe. Let me know when you intend to sell maybe?
