Don't forget it will make a huge difference two up and with 'air brake' metal boxes fitted.
I never got below 200 mptank, one up with metal mules fitted on my month trip and when on motorway at 80ish I got upto 230 mpt

Tank range is fine if I ride the bike for more than the four n' half mile / ten minute commute to work; my average speed for this tank is only 19 mph which includes a return trip down the M32 five days a week

Ah, that would explain it! Sounds to me like you need a pushbike for that commute!

57 mpg average for me regardless of how hard I ride the bike.

This is 99% commuting into London, so about 8 miles of semi-motorway at 70mph ish, then another 8 miles of finest London stop-start. Means I usually fill up around 170 miles which is 5 days riding assuming I haven't taken the push bike or train instead. Fuel light usually comes on a mile or two before I stop to fill up, so overall range around 200 miles I guess.

Can't really complain at that for an 800

Guys I dont understand threads like this(maybe cos my second bike is an R6).Are you riding or stroking the throttle?Btw my average on F8 is 180mls until reserve.

I'm a bit of a lazy git though; at six am there's only one answer to the question "push bike or the 800?"

Just filled up, was reading 163 miles; Which means 47.37 mpg and give about 170 miles to empty (assuming 16.5 litre tank).
Considering the bikes hardly warmed up by the time I'm getting back off, 'tis not to bad. Just a shame about the price of gas at the minute!

I'm getting 200 - 220 miles per tank, down to about half a litre left in the tank.

Just rode the welsh national rally in the company of an Africa twin,KTM 950
1150GS,and a 750 tenere.At each fuel stop,I put 11 litres in compared to 19-24 litres in the other bikes!
Although interestingly,having re-set the trip meters,my 800GS and the Africa twin agreed,but the 1150 and the KTM read consistently 8% more!----???
All I know for sure is the 800GS is MASSIVELY better on fuel than the competition,which @ £1.44 a litre,really matters.http://www.ukgser.com/forums/images/smilies/jb.gif
