Both Jackie and I are likely to be using the train more frequently in the near future. Unwilling to lug crash helmets around the London public transport network, we want to leave them locked on the bikes. We could fit the panniers to hold them, but they take up a feck of a lot of space in the limited motorcycle parking area; not really fair on others, and a bit limiting if space is already tight when we get there.
So, my thinking was to chain the helmet to the rear rack. Quite straightforward to do, chain round the chin bar and rack and jobs a good 'un. Now we get to the nub of the post, having secured a helmet to the bike, how to protect it from the elements for 10 hours or so in car park?
A Kriega helmet cover looks good, but is it actually waterproof ? Or is a Tesco's carrier bag just as good?
