What does it mean???

As someone said, it would be good for other forum members to know who your insurance company is, so that we know who to avoid.

Got a new revised figure of £3500 more than the previous figure. And they were also saying that the previous figure was ridiculous!!!!

The notion that the dealer's profit is not reimbursable in their offer is much the same as VAT...........

Second-hand prices are based upon the OTR price of the original bike, in respect to a bike that is that new.

If they don't want to pay what it will cost you to replace - ask them to replace with a bike of similar condition (stating the max age and mileage that you are prepared to entertain)

I think this is exactly what they were saying ie the dealers profit not reimbursed or something to those lines. But I believe they should actually give the OTR Price of a bike that is as old as mine.

So I would class that as their first offer, reject and send them a sale order form from your dealer with cost of replacement bike including extras that were fitted to yours, bike chain etc. Be nice, firm and calm, you will get there

I have rejected their offer. And also sent them the dealer invoice and different quotes of bikes of similar specs which are for sale for more than their valuation. Fingers crossed I will get an offer which is reflective of the true value of the bike when it was stolen.

I know this may sound pointless, but ensure you resend the evidence/reasoning for rejecting the offer, i.e the quotes sales order form, clearly evidencing why that offer is not suitable

Ok thanks I will do it tonight.

Disagree, If I bought a bike new to me three years ago, I could not expect a new model as replacement. It needs to be like for like although I accept in this situation they may as well buy a new one. However I suspect a pre-reg del miles would be the closest if one could be found

OP said ;

As you all know that my brand new GS was stolen end of Jan.
