Apart from the irritating posts from 1100/1150 owners (having a break from touring the World, rebuilding their engines with just two spanners, and filing down the points with volcanic rock) who despite never wanting one insist in passing on opinions about how the LC may or may not be.

The only thing I don't like about the bike is;
a) It is too fast and powerful
b) Handles way too well
c) Has fantastic brakes
d) Is smooth as silk at cruising speeds 70 -100mph
e) Fantastic finish and packed with inovation

I was expecting it to be much more like the 1100, what were BMW thinking :rob

Well, the throttle is more sensitive, the handling is more sensitive.

And of course, the owners are a damn sight more sensitive.

It's hard getting used to the clunk when putting it into first gear - it doesn't sound mechanically sympathetic, but there again almost every chain driven sports bike I have come across does it so can't be as bad as it sounds.

Otherwise no complaints at all - it's all good :D

Don't own mine yet but the things I don't like about it are.

1..Indicators..much prefer the original.

2..The little nub that you use to kick the side stand down....my foot catches on it when changing gear.

3..Hand guards..they get in the way when wearing heavy gloves.

Steve,
1 - The indicators are excellent/bright.
2 - I haven't had this problem but I have adjusted the gear change lever upwards to make it easier to get my boot under it.
3 - Again I haven't had this problem, your gloves must be very large. However, if this happens when reaching for the levers try adjusting the lever positions, there are 4 options.
Hope this helps when you get yours.

You protesteth too much sir :blast

Keep going though because you are trying to justify a £13,000+ dog turd :augie

... the new shape mirrors aren’t as effective as the original round displays and the heated grips are as warm as a corpse. Other than that it’s all positive.

The peg on the centrestand is definitely a nuisance, had the same problem on the multistrada as well. Although the led running light is very flash, I'm beginning to wonder if it's less effective than just having your headlight on - I had two 'look but fail to see's yesterday, pulling out on me from side roads.

The other thing I'm having is that it's noticeably trickier to find neutral than it was on the GSA, but this could just be because the gearbox is new and needs a bit of running in. In general these are small points though, I'm enjoying the improved power response.

Cheers
Jimmy

My "clunk" seems to be intermittent. Or it's getting better!

1st service Saturday.

Not something that will worry me (when mine arrives) since I never use neutral.

Not sure if, it's just me but the heated grips seem, to be getting better.

I miss the old style indicator switches but hey ho. That's progress !

Love the LED lights

Not having a problem with the side stand - managed to smack it in to 1st when going for the stand at the weekend...won't do that again!!!

It's cumfy but think I'd like bar risers just to sit up straighter.

Getting the knack of fitting the boxes, more stable than the last ones but a little more difficult to fit, remove...not a bad thing.

Otherwise ...very happy.

An improvement on my old 1200 :thumb2

It's intermittent, sometimes silent other times a horrendous clunk, depends how the cogs are lined up at the time the lever is pressed I guess?

I hate not having the problems so many seem to have:

- I do not find the gears difficult and/or noisy to shift
- I do not find the sidestand difficult to find with my foot
- I do not find the «mechanical noises» that bad
- I do not dislike the new indicators switch
- I do not find the bike heavier to lean into a curve
- I do not think it looks plasticky
- I do not think it looks fragile and badly assembled
- I am not afraid the electronics will fail within 3 months
- I do not think BMW has come up with a lesser bike

I'm wondering if I'm normal and if I should not see a doctor.

OTOH, I do not like how the gear lever feels like it is mounted inward, forcing my foot into some gyrations to shift. :blast
