What Euro standard is the 1150 GS?

I'm looking to get a Crit Air sticker for a trip to France in August. The official form asks what Euro standard your bike is. The main page can be translated into English and has a drop down section for you to pick which Euro standard you'd like, but Annex 1, explaining the classes of vehicles is in French only. As I didn't pay any attention in my school French classes, has anyone on here applied for a Crit Air sticker for their 1150GS, and what class did they choose? There is no CO2 rating on my V5, so I'm going by their 'age of vehicle' rating. I'm thinking (OK guessing) my 2003 GS will be a Euro 4, but it would be reassuring to know what others have done when applying.
Thanks for any pointers, advice, and directions.
 
Euro 3 didn’t come in for bikes until 2006. The R1150GS might comply with this or 4 because it has a catalytic converter. But I don’t think it was certified/type approved. You might have to ask BMW for some documentation as those wanting to ride in London had to do??

I just received my crit air sticker for my 2001 r1150gs and from the image of the V5 I had to send them they decided my bike was category 4 out of 5 in with the diesels! Despite my bike being approved by BMW and the London lez police for use within the London lez.
 
Any registered prior to 1st June 2000 aren’t even eligible… How do I know? Mine was registered in May :blast

Being an honest upstanding member of society....stop laughing at the back, I was trying to give as much info to save any me problems down the line, but your suggestion sounds the best. I have the London ULEZ exemption letter (via BMW) but don't think that will cover me in Caen 😉
I'll start the form again and only fill in the spaces with asterisks.

The 2-spark R1100S is manufactured to Euro 1 emission standard, as per my letter from BMW for ULEZ.

With reference to a BMW R 1100 S motorbike, VIN xxxxxxxxxx, we can confirm from factory records this vehicle was manufactured to EURO 1 emission standard. According to Component type-approval certificate no. e1-97/24/5-0040/03. the fuel type required for this vehicle is petrol and the value of the NOx emission is 0.049g/km.

I expect the GS will be the same.
 
I read recently they're thinking /planning to do away with the whole Crit-Air scheme soon anyway.

I'm also not sure it's anything that any French copper has cared about since it's inception. I think it's one of those things that they use as an "additional charge" if they pull you over for something else (speeding etc).

I've got one for my 2004 Rockster (it's brown iirc).

Also - I think they only really "apply" for city-centre areas, and then only on days when pollution is particularly high, so you need to consult an app to tell you if your vehicle is allowed in that city-area today.

My 2002 single spark 1150 GS has a category 4 Crit air. Previously it was my mate's bike and he lived in Paris with it for a good number of years.IMG_20250728_141703.jpg
