What gear are you wearing?

Well I have been very impressed by my RST paragon II jacket - 100% waterproof and very comfy and all for a bargain price (£180 istr). Also loving my C3 Schuberth helmet - simply the most comfortable, quiet and well made lid I have ever had - previously a shoei wearer. Just got some Held Twin gloves on the back of a very good Ride review and they are entirely satisfactory - but I'm not sure they are worth the money!

Sub zero gloves if I get caught out. Some old Jumbo International winter gloves for inside the muffs through the winter - yes, still going after what must be 25 years of regular use!

Jacket in the summer, Richa. No idea wehich model, again they probably stopped making it 10 years ago, or my MQP leather jacket that I bought from Bridge Garage, Exeter in 1981! Richa trousers to go with the jacket, or just jeans, sometimes Draggin, sometimnes what I stand up in.

Richa Voyager jacket and trousers for 'best' or long rides.

Helmet - again it shouldprobably have been changed about 10 years ago. Remember when Steve Spray and Trevor Nation were riding the Norton rotary bikes? Well it is one of the very same Arai Giga in black metallic - I was given it by Pheonix marketing who were the Arai concessionaires at the time because I was doing much of the photography for Arai. The linig has crumbled away and I expect the polystyrene padding is probably useless now too - but my head isn't worth anything anyway. It keeps the rain and flies out!

Boots - I got a pair of BMW Touring boots in a sale from Pidcocks again it must be 8 or 9 years ago. They replaced a pair of Gold tops that were first worn with seaboot stockings over the top on a Velo MSS in my yoof.

Tight git aren't I. :thumb2

Shoei Neotec mat black, Lindstrands Qattara jacket, Lindstrands TT trousers, SIDI Adventure boots. In heavy rain Ill wear Richa Rain Warrior jacket & trousers over the top.

Hi
Boots - Daytona Road Star GTX - all weathers and extremely comfortable
Jacket - Rukka Armas Goretex
Pants - Rukka Kalahari Gortex
Helmet - Shoei Multitec for winter and a Shoei RJ Platinum R open face for those lurvly summer days!
Hi viz - Urban Glow Tristar Max vest - overall black with hi viz inserts - so no blurring of your profile.
All very comfortable at all temperatures and in all weathers.

I need to start thinking about replacing some of my worn out clothing and boots, so was wondering what the discerning GS rider wears, and what (from your suggestions) I can afford to wear?

I think I'll need boots first.....

All comments and input welcome.
Anything as long as it isn't twat suit or high viz - jeans and trainers are better than a twat suit!

Lol, im looking at some MX/dual sport boots, will keep my leather trousers (Belstaff) and probably get some more miles out of my current jackets (maybe get them cleaned and proofed)

I've got a rain suit that goes over normal clobber but have just sent it back for failing it's primary function of being waterproof

I have Kevlar lined jeans with knee and hip armour so I use those when popping to the shops or whatever.

I do have a hi viz waistcoat, but save that for night riding and foreign trips

Twat suit.

2nd hand when bought some eight years ago.

In that time it's used (reguarly) for green laning and numerous muddy 'offs'.
Day to day riding to work/Tescos.
It has kept me warm in sub zero temps (-15'C at one stage!) across France.
It has kept me cool in stoopid hot weather in S Spain and N Africa.
It has kept me bone dry in all types of rain/speeds/distances.
It (and I) survived one big low speed off and one high speed off.
It still shows no signs of dying but is very nicely faded and 'lived-in' now.

The only mod is to use an army surplus Gortex over jacket when it's VERY wet or VERY cold (packs away in the bum bag/pocket thing).

I don't give a shit over all the inverse snobbery that surrounds them as it's the best 'do-it-all' jacket/troosers I've owned so far since riding bikes.

If it's chilly I wear a Warm 'n' Safe heated jacket, this is one item that made a huge difference to winter riding for me, like riding with the sun on your back all the time. I generally don't have it up very hot, but enough so that you never get cold. The difference in your concentration and reaction time in the cold and dark is a significant increase in safety in my view.

Winter= KLIM Badlands Pro jacket, Powerlet heated jacket liner, Powerlet heated/waterproof gloves (or KLIM Element if not too cold), HG Master V troos and SIDI Adventure boots
Summer= Rallye 3 jacket and troos (just bought off here secondhand) replacing HG Master V jacket, various selection of summer gloves, same boots.

I also have another HG Goretex Proshell summer jacket I can use if I know its going to rain on a summers day. Can mix and match as appropriate to weather conditions.

Fringed Lewis leathers lightning jacket, purple loon pants, Jesus Dockers, and a Paisley cravat. :D

Klim Badlands Pro Jacket and trousers (Bone dry, vry good venting but tends to be coolish)

Powerlet jacket and remote controller for wintery days (see above again :) )
Sidi Adventure boots & rugby socks
Gloves vary - usually BMW summer ones but just bought some Klim Inversion as spares (Rukka Mars in cupboard for winter)
