Hi there,
What insurance company are you using for an agreed value policy? i can no longer have my bike garaged, so Footman James won't insure it any more (pity, because their premium was only about the cost of a bag of sweets!).
Cheers.

I got my bike insured for an agreed value with Carol Nash. Not cheap and a lot of messing around with sending them fotos of other bikes for sale at similar values. I tried most of the other companies who claimed they offered agreed value but they were for vintage bikes:)

I'm with Carol Nash. Have 3 bikes on the policy, one of which is an agreed value. Seems okay.

RAC for me as that was the only company that would insure me after my bike was stolen

Never again Swinton. The list of cock ups they made this year insuring both my bikes is laughable. 12 months of hell ended yesterday when they finally sent through my proof of claims. To get it, took a phone call on the day they sent out the reminder. Told me to phone again when the insurance ran out. Called that day and then again two weeks later. Still nothing. So rode down on Saturday to the Swinton branch on Prince of Wales, Norwich. Then was told they had no record of me phoning...! So I pulled out my iPhone and showed them the list of times I had called. Phoned this morning.. Still no knowledge of my calls or visit. Even though I was speaking to the women I spoke to on Saturday. Now have a faxed copy in my hand...

Sorry for the rant.. Now with FJ like they say you get what you pay for.

If you are an IAM member use Adelaide Insurance. They will match any quote you get and they have excellent cover :)

Rip Off Britain,,, Insurance

A Year or so ago I changed over to a K1600GTLE that cost a fortune and meant that I was struggling to find a decent insurer, most said they wouldnt insure the bike due to it value. In February this year I reverted back to a GSA triple black, the K just didnt have reliability on its components. The insurance renewal is now due and I have been staggered to find that BMW who I used to insure the K want £412 for the GSA !!!!!!! Thats nearly double what they wanted for the K that cost £7k more. Either they dont want to insure bikes anymore or someones fecked up, I certainly wont be giving them any money this year. After 35 years riding with not a single claim I think I am probably to be considered a reasonably safe customer but they want to rip the hell out of it. Looks like I may return to Carol Nash, not the cheapest quote but certainly good historically.

Agreed value

Had a big fall out with footman James
Went to carol Nash probably not much better
But until you claim there's no knowing how. Good any of them are:thumb2
