Well, it can't be you, you pig ugly mother fucker not when you have that gorgeous 'R' as a big sister........at least these were my first thoughts as I pondered....

"A motorcycle provides the link between all your senses and the way ahead."

Although I covered a hundred miles on my own KTM 950 today I was fortunate enough to be loaned an 1190 for 8 hours, that's 8 hours of riding around North Wales, using thirty quids worth of fuel in driving rain and wind.

It was also an 8 hours which will prompt me to buy a lottery ticket this week.

I'm not far from the 'Ugly Cottage' on the A5 and consider taking a sarky photo there, but things were changing.....

Not wanting to wax lyrical about the stonking engine, brakes, suspension and pretty much everything about this machine....that's done elsewhere, it's more about how a motorcycle can become the perfect extension of your body and mind.

By now I rode past the Ugly Cottage suppressing my earlier thoughts with a tinge of guilt.

I show her my favourite mountain which I must have climbed at least 20 times.

Then show her the views

You know how we like to show our girlfriend where we're from?
Well, my old cottage is only a few miles down there.

I'm sure that that thing is a great 'bike........ (you know what's coming)....WTF with THAT exhaust......NOT as bad as the Aprilia, but still a bloody ugly pig of a thing......

If that is the Colwyn Bay demo bike, my son and I rode it Saturday. Can't stop thinking about the dam thing. We only had it about two hours and did not take it on any gravel, but had a brilliant time between Llanwrst and the Denbigh moors. On the rollercoaster past Llyn Aled it was a joy.

Great photos by the way.:clap

Ok, so you don't need 150 bhp to ride this road but some of it's nice.

I'm starving and eventually stop for breakfast at 11.30 at...where else.

Yep, I started off think she was ugly too.

It's 12.08, that's how quickly I shovelled that breakfast down me so I get back on the bike.

Storm clouds move in and it's starting to rain.

Brief historical stop in Caernarfon.

It pisses down for the next couple of hours as I head into the Lleyn.
I've never ridden a hi tech bike that can do this before, but it's brilliant.

She looks suspiciously like the girl from Colwyn Bay I dated briefly a couple of weekends ago. It was a whirlwind romance which only lasted for 40 or so miles. But it was an expensive first date and one which has resulted in my divorce from my GS.

I've opted to put lipstick on my pig by going for the R version.

Colwyn Bay girls do have a reputation and normally good for a one night stand, she must have given you a great ride.
Some girls spit whilst others swallow.... but this baby gargles so no wonder:thumb

Great photos and you clearly had a great time but how tastes differ....no matter how well that bike rides and performs there`s nothing about it that tempts me in the slightest to even test ride one.
I don`t like all the scaffolding and angular plastic, nor that exhaust silencer and those indicators look both too small to be seen clearly and likely to punch a hole in the fairing in a tip over.

A brief look at the seaside and the rain begins to bounce down.

Onwards through Nefyn and my earler over enthusiastic right wrist leaves me stopping for fuel again before arriving at Aberdaron.

The sign says toilet but this is no BMW

Heading past a wild Hell's Mouth I intend to look Shep up at Abersoch for a cuppa but times getting on.
Next time mate:thumb

A fast ride in the rain can only come through confidence in your bike.
I have it with this one.

A quick brew at Eric Jones Cafe then through Beddgelert, Capel Curig, Betws and Llanrwst and the same route over the top back to Colwyn Bay.

Before parting, we pull into a layby for one last, intimate moment.

THIS is a great motorcycle.

Best stick to your Cossacks then:thumb

Nice report.:thumb The KTM is an ugly bike, but does anyone buy a GS for its looks?:comfort:D

You probably rode past me to get to Hells Mouth, never mind at least i got to keep the buscuits all to myself, was on Hells Mouth a couple of hours back, nice and wild:thumb2

Bugger:blast, I was drenched by then and needed to press on so dripped over the pritstine floor at at Tremadog instead:D

Yes i'm only a couple of minutes from the beach (on my bike), that KTM would do it in one i'd think.

Nice:clap
