The pictures?

Pointless linking pics that people don't have permission to see. You need to put them in photobucket or somewhere like that so we can get to them.

Welcome Murpies!

That question has been asked many a time before and although i cannot remember the answer, no one seems to have that part. I think it was something to do with an optional upgrade. I keep a spare bulb in there.

Best,

S

Changed my battery the other night on the 650 mine was full of water, baffled me what it was for!

If you cross reference the part on RealOEM you get the following:

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partxref.do?part=11737694376

Part 11737694376 (Valve) was found on the following vehicles:

K48: Details on K48
K48 K 1600 GT (0601,0611) N/A
K48 K 1600 GTL (0602, 0612) N/A

K72: Details on K72
K72 F 800 GS (0219,0229) N/A

So it looks like it is not on the F650GS twin but on the F800GS.

I think this device is the air pulse system???? the F800gs needs to pass the emissions, BMW call it a change over valve. It lets air flow between the air box and the exhaust manifold. The F650 has no need for one due to its lower state of tune. If Im right its a bit complicated, the Bonneville had a reed valve doing a similar task, this was the first thing to remove from a new bike to try stop the pipes going blue.
While looking in the workshop manual I noticed an idle control motor I did not know the bike had? All a bit complicated but to get 72mpg and 80bhp and low emissions requires something special.
Im not 100% sure so if anybody has a better idea let us know.

It looks like a mini submersible pump to stop rain water collecting in a funny hole.
lol tats wat i'm thinking too.:beerjug:

:thumb thanks for the reply will check it out.

:thumb will look out for it thanks.

btw any F800GS have it might wanna share some pic of the Valve item. Thanks.

My little hole fills with water too... so if anything is designed to be in there it ain't going to last very long.

Unless of course

It looks like a mini submersible pump to stop rain water collecting in a funny hole.

you're right!!! I found these page . the item is call Secondary Air system Changeover Valve (SLS Changeover Valve ) foung only on F800 GS , S, ST but not on F650 GS. Guess it is for the extra horsepower on these few models. :friday and thanks everyone for the reply.
