Since I don't think there is a single thread mentioning those things, maybe you people could list what has changed from first gen 12GS all the way to today?

Some things that come to my mind (but don't know when they happened) are, different center stand, new color(s?), white blinker option, white LED blinker option, TPS, TCS, more detailed HUD (true? what has changed? heard that fuel gauge is finally detailed), acrapovic end-can factory option etc.

So can anybody elaborate (esp. about when happened what) and add to the list?

Hazzard Flashers

Only difference I noticed between my 2005 GS and 2006 GS was that the 2006 did not come equipped with hazzard flashers. Otherwise the same.

My 2006 did, no dedicated hazards button, but if you press and hold the laft and right indicator buttons at the same time, that activates the hazards.

Cool thread idea.
My late 05' has a hazard button, and operates hazards by pressing both indicators at once.

I think they've stopped selling the blue bikes now, or at least it's not in the new brochures. A damn shame as I really liked that colour.

Display has changed to the boring but more reliable (apparently) LCD watch style numbering and added some features like tyre pressures. There was a thread on here the other day about it.

Not 100% but didn't they change the side stand at some point too?

07 bikes
1. new LCD
2. new mainstand
3. new side stand
4. thicker frame paint
5. you now pay £50 labour on 600 mile service :spitfire
6. final drive oil changed on 600 mile service

New sidestand & mainstand came with the '06 bikes, as did the relocation of the rear brake gubbins. 07s lost the brake servo.

My 05 has the 'powervalve' thingy on the exhaust, which was no longer included on later bikes

There is no R1200GS transfers on each side of the rear frame.
The switches have changed from orange to grey.

There are more changes than just visual, engine and gearbox/final drive, brakes, and more all had updates. August '06 was a significant date of build for modifications.

Ah, same as the old R1100GS.

Bless!
