What screens are you guys using - is the standard the best, do the extra bits on the adventure work? would a small screen look better but be worse from a riding experience point of view!

I was half thinking of buying a small one to protect the clocks and get that naked sort of look - do you reckon I will regret it?

Cheers

Got the MRA vario screen, IMO works well, can be adjusted up for all day touring comfort and down for when it's hot and you want some air, the top half can be removed for that small screen look as well.:thumb

I use the standard one on the middle setting and think it is fine - it takes all of the wind load of arms, legs and shoulders. There can be some buffeting - but you get used to it and best to wear custom earplugs and a good lid.

I also have a MRA VArio like Nedflanders, but don;t like it as much as the standard screen - it certainly reduces the buffeting, but (in my case) puts all of the wind load back onto my chest and arms.

Loads of posts on the subject - you can spend a lifetime and fortune on this subject and in the end, turn your bike into an RT if you are not careful!!

Standard GS screen - second from top setting, with laminar lip, toobinators and additional winglets.

At 6ft 4" the buffeting is reduced a lot - vast improvement on just the std screen.

Did 6K with the std, now i'm off on a big trip thought a little more protection would be a good idea.

swmbo also says that it makes a big difference as a pillion too:thumb

If i wanted to go small i'd just remove the laminar lip and lower the setting.

You'll get hundreds of different anwers on this topic, from hundred of diferent tossers.

Just fitted a Wunderlich Flowjet fly screen and I'm very happy with it. Although it is very pricey for what it is.

May go back to original screen in winter though.

lovely when you get the hieght right, im 5ft 10, but i recon it may be no good for m/ways if your over 6ft?

Wunderlich ergo and gsa winglets. No buffet good protection. Only downside is that it makes the peak on my enduro lid vibrate and you end up looking through it going round corners which is a problem when it gets covered in road cack. The courtesy bike I had the other day had the standard screen and I couldn't get over how much louder it was. No peak vibrations, however!

Me,

5' 8 1/2" , on my GS I fitted a Nippy Norman high wide screen- massive difference. Much quieter, no buffeting at all.

On my new GSA the screen is an improvement on the stock screen but still no where near as good as the Nippy one which I'm going to try on the GSA- once I've tried the stock one in the highest position which will require butchering the stooopid nobby bits stopping the screen going all the way up..
