What is the first sign of FD faulure?

2010 R1200RT, 3200 miles, Every time after I wash it I get traces of something light brown on the wheel the next time I take the bike out. Thought it was an assembly compound at first but surely that should have gone by now. Will take a photo over the weekend and attach it.

You shouldn't wash a bike and then put it away. If you are going to wash it , it should be before you take it out.

I wash it. I dry it. It doesn't corrode
