What is the purpose of this part do Please

Hey Folks
Just wondering can anybody tell me what the purpose of this part on the bike is for. I am missing it on my other bike so haven't got a clue any help would be greatly appreciated

I think it’s to keep a brake cable hose safe from fouling steering

Its a Brake Pipe Union / Connector

It should not be there I think that one should be about where the rear subframe meets the gearbox ABS II solid pipe to Flexible rubber rear calliper hose

Looks like a left over part from abs removal.
