what jacket for off road riding....cannot afford bmw stuff

HI all,

Going to off road skills 2 and just had a nice chat with them about clothing. I am going to buy an off road lid and am also looking for an off road jacket. On skills 1 I destroyed my road jacket by flying over the handle bars so I am planning to buy something basic. Anyone got any advice for reasonable priced jacket with some protection and the ability to keep me dry....It was raining rather a lot last year on skils 1.

I found some cheapish jackets on fleabay from AXO but do not know them very well.

rent the stuff from'em but take extra armour makes it even better when you rip all the buckles off the boots and have the gaffer it back together....
