What new (cheap) bits did you add ?

Hi all,
So you just bought a new GS and don't have loads of cash to add bits and pieces - so what did/ would you buy ?
I,m thinking light guards/ crash bobbins etc .....

Thanks everyone.
Rowle.
For a start, think about controlling rain spray. Fender extender, Mudsling, frame infill panels. There are differing opinions on wether to buy genuine machineart parts or cheaper Chinese copies. You decide what suits you best. To protect the front of the engine from stone chips think about a Cymarc crud catcher. Just a start.

Don’t worry, you’ll be the first person I come too if I want advice on keeping a leaky bike in a leaky shed behind a leaky council house :-)

Fuck off you fucking arsehole, you never cease to amaze me with the level of personal insults you will stoop too. None of what you said applies to my bike, my brand new shed or the ex council house i stay in, like millions of others do. You really are a piece of shit aren’t you. Arrogant fuck.

If I had blown my budget on a new bike, and wanted some cheap farkles.... I'd pick these:-

- Chinese Mudsling to protect rear

- Chinese Fender Extender to protect engine case

- BMW frame protectors.

- AutoGlym Super Resin Polish to protect all the paintwork

- Cheap quality disc lock (mine cost £5 from NEC Bike Show)

- Unbolt my engine bars, skidplate, rear racks, exhaust, rear footpegs and get the lot powdercoated in another colour to suit the bike.

- Moto-Grafix tank protector to reduce scratches

- Spend £12 subscription on this Forum and Spam the 'For Sale' section for bargains

Plus 1

I’ve had original machine mart guards on one bike and Chinese copies on another.

Go Chinese.

Oh and grip puppies. Best 10 quid, (again go cheap on eBay, no need to spend that) you’ll ever spend I recon

Got the copies of the mudslinger and fender extenda from M&P this week - £21.49 & £24.99 with extra 10% off multi-buy through their flea bay shop, delivered free
Both look perfect and perfect fit, sot on shade match
Touratech engine bars - I liked the cylinder head covers, but my only worry was that a quarter of ton bike gotta put some shock through the head if you drop it
Went for the Touratech lower bars in black as they have 4 points of mounting, some have 3
Also got the Evotech rear spindle bobbin, lovely piece of kit
and the Evotech radiator guards set - well made and perfect fit

No farkle is essential. All can be a happy distraction so fill your boots.
Somebody has to go out there and spend money or we’re all screwed.

The OP said he didn't want to spend much money.

Haha - i have enough to spend on new gear for the Mrs as her old stuff “ doesn't,t match” the new bike ! :blast:blast:nenau

Great replies so far - thank you.

Well I recon her old knickers will sell like hot cakes here, no need to wash them. You will make a fortune, it may end up as somebody’s avatar :D:D:thumb2

But I must say that Snow White’s favourite little helper does have a fabulous way with his sentence construction and subtle nuances..

Really good thread this. Thanks for all the contributions and I now know what I need that I previously did not!
