What panniers for 1200gs

is an exhaust extension or some kind of heatshield required with your panniers on a 1200gs? Extra cost? How much!?

Yes

I will be using a Cam Latch from South co .
This has a Gasket that secures between the Pannier and the Stem of the
latch , which ensures water tightness.
If you look at the Above frame picture the Cut out is there , the cam latch
will sit in these cut outs which are counter sunk as well.

Here are some more images of the detail of my Micatechs. And how they look on the bike with a Givi 52 topbox.

The image from the rear, I took with my 200mm lense, trying to get a better idea of how wide they look on the bike
(as opposed to taking a picture them from too close, where in the image they look wider than in RL)

The black tab pointing off to 8:00 is attached to a nut that acts as
a lock-nut.
