What price ;f800gs in 2008 in UK.

hi guys.
could you let me know what the new price was of a 800 gs in 2008.
the secod hand prices seem to vary so much on here and fleabay.
also,is there a place/site that shows the book values of bikes in the UK.
just want to see what the value is before shelling out the bucks.

i have seen a few nice 800 on this site,but seem a little steep, around 6000 pound for a 2008, or is that just about right ?
i am hoping to get one for around 5k std and 5.5k with a few extras.is that being too optimistic.

I'm not sure what peeps paid in 08 New (some bought a bit cheaper depending on extras added ABS etc, but you wont be paying anything near that

you can get them under 5k its a buyers market as for extras maybe a private deal. good examples here with extras a lot of peeps and dealers strip back to original and sell on extras to get more money out of the deal.

The bike for 4995 initially looks good value, but if you want a few extras and buy them to put on the bike, you very soon go well over 6k, i.e. that bike is early 08, has no warranty, has no panniers, the uncomfortable standard seat, small screen etc. to put that right would cost 1300 pound.

I would buy a fully kitted one, similar or the same !!! as the one I have for sale.

hahah,frankh,thats funny,your bike is the one that prompted me to ask how much they were in 2008.
your bike is exactly what i need,well apart from a decent pipe.but i need it for 5.5k.
as i am coming to to the uk with rands which sadly are sitting at around 12 to 1 english pound.
imagine you paying twelve times that amount for your bike and you get an idea of my situation.
but i agree you have a well thought out bike.
going to check auto trader now

Good luck with the search, make sure you get a bike with warranty. If you have tried one for any distance you know the most important addition is a comfy seat, the sargent seat on mine was just over 400 pounds(still have the receipt) but is by far the most comfy available for the F800GS. Extended warranty was over 300 pound. I could go to 5700 if I keep the sargent and you get the original........but you would be sorry.
