Here you go, Pirelli Diablo's - work well enough on my Husky :thumb

Dunlop Roadsmarts :thumb:thumb:thumb:thumb

Couldnt't actually say whether they are better than trail attacks... However they are Road Tyres, and they are bloody good.....

They look more like racing wets than Diablo's. 19" front?

If you want conflicting advice on tyres do a search on 'tyres', you will find there is no consensus on what tyre is best. If all you want is lean angle can I suggest an RGV250 :thumb.

PS there are no chicken strips on my Battlewing shod 1200GS, but I suspect it handles better than a GSA.

They are Diablo's, but yeah race wets and (obviously) not available in 19" :D

Was just making a similar (but more oblique) point to you really.......most modern tyres will outperform the rider - cue BOF WMB owners rant about getting more training if you want to ride faster blah blah blah.............. ;)

My mate did a track day at Castle Coomb a few weeks ago.
He was riding his 2010 GSA. His lean angle was only limited by his sticky-out engine (not his tyres), and managed to scrape his RH cylinder head cover a few times.

What super sticky sports tyres was he on:confused:

Conti TrailAttacks:augie

Is that the best lean angle you can manage?

oooh I don't really know.......

How's about rather than measuring lean angle's and all that we just get our willies out and measure them .... :comfort:comfort:comfort

What do you mean by "more lean angle"? GS is good for scrapping the pegs on pretty much any rubber, TKC80 included, at least on the dry tarmac. Trail Attacks can easily manage everything up to full track day riding mode. If you need more ride height, add rear preload. If you don’t have confidence to lean the bike further, check tyre pressure.

Not for me thanks. I'm sure a lot of that goes on at UKGSer meets but a third party would have to do the measuring as most can't see their knob over their gut and to ensure everyone used a standard 'inch'.

What I would like to see is a pic of a GS coming out of clearways on opposite lock leaving a 'blackie' drifting the back end.

I too, would like to see a photo of this instance, which I'm quite sure would be taken on the same day that Suzi Perry invites me back to her place for Tantric sex.
Mark
PS. Are you allowed to say "blackie" anymore?

Not you as well ? She assured me I was the "only one":thumb2

I changed the rear tyre to a Conti Road Attack, but replaced the standard 150/70 with a 160/60. This gives more rubber on the edge (or further round).

With the standard size, I had scraped the stands, and had no "chicken strips" at all.

With the 160/60, I can scrape the stands, and have some unused rubber (chicken strip) left in case I lean any more, which is highly unlikey, but you never know....

As for better grip, I couldnt tell. Sorry.

Now prepare for everyone to lambast me....:redbone

Conti Trial Attacks, Centre stand scrapes RH side stand scrapes LH
If you have ESA ride 1 up with luggage indicator, jacks back end up quickens steering (Slightly ok its not a gixxer thou)

I ride on balls of foot and occasionally side of boot gets knocked up with foot rest (its a GSA) also when so called chicken strip has gone ya still can go over further 1/4" or so.

If this is not enough you are riding the wrong bike.

Best regards Stretch :)

Im using Trail Attack.
No chicken strips on my tyres.
Your problem is down to the rider not the tyre.
