Thanks for all the reply's Have seen a couple of candidates in the for sale section...until I saw the locations. Having two kids running around doesn't leave me with time to pop over to derwentside and to by this one :blast:

Dennis , wtf do you want a gs for ,if you cant be buggered jumpin on a train and riding your new bike home ?? .. not much of an adventurer , a bit of advice , border raider's bike looks minted for the cash . i jumped on a train and rode my bike home from holmfirth , yorkshire to scotland . i paid 3200 for it and it was as rough as a stick with 74000 mls on it , was i bovered ??, not a jot , 2 weeks and 300 quid later the bike rolled outa my garage minted .. tell you wot . i'll ride my bike to you . sell you it for 3500 , jump on a train to the north east , buy border raiders , and ride it home to scotland . win win situation .. :thumb2:thumb2

I've bought my last 4 bikes "Sooth" and rode 'em home to Shetland! ZE2!!

If they are worth buying they are worth travelling for:thumb

My 11GS was £1800 in a village outside Chesterfield, eBay style, no prior viewing, nice informative chat with owner. I travelled down, picked it up, rode it to Cornwall and then back to ZE2 via Yorkshire again. Have a bit of adventure, just tell yer wife your off to the shops...:D

Some of the bike advertised on this site are really good looking deals and are usually blinged up to the eyeballs with stuff it would take a year and a large overdraft to get together, so have on fear and travel with cash!

Re: Yes but no buts... Years ago when selling in good old Autotrader the motto was 10 phone calls, 7 definate buyers "mate", 2 show up, 1 may buy...

If you dont mind me sticking my nose in that bike is a good price and immaculate. The only thing it is missing is luggage which is easily rectifiable through the site too at discount prices, sod ebay. :thumb

As for checking it out i am fairly certain that from the people i have met on this site so far what you see advertised is what you get............ i doubt he is going to have you over and if he does then you will be the exception to the rule as the seller has other known members vouching for the bike

Above post is meant to ally n00b fears of a conspiracy :)

I recently bought a 2001 black 1150 non servo ABS single spark with 9500 on the clock (still on the original tyres)...it was spotless and I paid £4700 (probably a little over the top but it was spotless and I soooo wanted it).

I live near Reading and bought the bike in Cumbria. Hired a van for £45 in Wokingham (BTC have no mielage limit)...got a mate to co drive went early and got it. Haven't regretted it, a day well spent and I just love the bike.

The one on the link looks fantastic. if it looks this good it WILL have been well looked after....go for it and if you need a co driver give me a shout. :thumb

might take you up on that

Missed out on Borderraiders steed that was for sale but I am still on the look out for a good one.

I might well give you a shout if I need a co-driver to get one or need a lift and ride it back. If that is ok with you.

cheers
