What size hole for BMW/Hella Socket?

To save me trawling the net & going to find a gauge, can any wise tosser tell me what size hole I need to drill in my fairing to fit the BMW sockets?

It's either 16 or 18mm. If you drill a 16mm hole and it's not quite big enough then it's 18.

I think its 11/16", so 18mm.

as before, try 16, if not its 18.

Take the nut off the back off the socket and measure the inside diameter of it, or place the nut on the bike where you want the socket to be and draw round the inside of the nut ... simple eh

17.75mm is the diameter of the socket, so 18mm would be the hole size

i drilled mine to 11mm, which is the biggest size drill i have, then took it out with a round file.
