What Spares to carry

As little as possible.....

Put new clutch and throttle cables on and leave the old ones at home. If needed then someone can post them to you.

You meet the best people at repair shops around the world, and if your bikes broken down they will have pity on you and buy you beers...
Happy travels

Was going to post this as a tip, but thought I'd add to this handy thread.
Throttle return springs. Cost very little and easy to carry, a bugger when they break...as they will as they age :thumb
(Mine broke on way to work this am rather than in middle of Atacama at least. Had 'em go before - biro springs or rubber bands will do in emergency, but really why not buy a pair with your next spares order...treat yourselves :mmmm )

Just take your credit card and get on with it!
Alternatively, you could always take a second bike for spares"!!

Go down to your local 'Hein Gericke' and get a cable repair kit. "Nippel-pannen" set I think it's called. It's full of all sorts of 'solderless nipples' (Oooer!) If you also carry a Lambretta clutch cable, then you can fix every single cable on every single bike...( I'll stand by for corrections on that last comment though.)
