anyone got a clue or is it just magic troll clutter as usual?

Think in terms of leisure battery for accessories. Some info taken from the webbie for this vid:-

"Home Help with a difference

The second battery, which is installed instead of the ABS unit under the tank, is separated to a relay from the main battery. Only when the alternator produces electricity, the second battery is connected and charged. It is provided exclusively for consumers as additional chargers or laptop. The main battery has thus always the starting operation for the full power. To monitor the system, two voltmeters were mounted with warning function.

If the motorcycle for any reason whatsoever not start with the main battery, the second battery is as yet available, assuming full charge. It is connected to an additional positive bolt. With a simple bridging the batteries are coupled, whereby you have 38 instead of 19 amp hours. One can even jump-start. Great idea by Wolfgang Hohn, bicycle mechanic at Norton and instrumental in setting up the project teams."

Its another chunk of weight to carry around. but the voltmeters look handy.

They're Koso units :thumb - we sell them in either a red or blue version

Simple split charge relay (40 quid) plus a couple of the digital readouts that Chad linked to.......add a bit of heavy guage cable and a second battery in the sidecar and voila!

We have done it on the 1150 sidecar here....we're waiting for a heavy duty leisure battery from a buoy to come ashore to fit in replacement of the standard lead acid one on at the moment, but it means the outfit will never be stuck with no power :thumb

If you have no ABS on an 11xx, there is space to put a second battery in the ABS unit space and do the same thing BTW, with either another standard GS sized battery or even a slightly larger, higher capacity YUASA one :clap

I've got a split system on my truck, allows me to run the flux capacitor, while using the microwave, slow cooker, forman grill and sandwich maker and charge my electric toothbrush all at the same time........
