What to visit in a day

Staying in Belfast on saturday (wife's christmas do)we fly out at 7pm ish on sunday,so have hired a car for sunday day time initially to go up to the Giants Causeway .So the question is any ideas on an easy days motoring taking in some sights .Round trip from and back to Belfast.

and yes I know it would be better on the bike,I will keep that for another time.

If you set out early I would suggest up the coastal route to the Causeway calling at the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge here

On return come back to Belfast via Ballymoney and visit the Joey Dunlop Memorial here

If yer feelin peckish, call into the Galley at Carnlough opposite the harbour, for the best fish and chips in the north.

think that the ropebridge is taken down for winter,

the antrim coast is still worth a drive round and the joey memorial is worth a visit too. Even call in for a shandy to Joeys Bar at the railway station.

Bushmills distillery is worth a visit if open and if not the return over Torr head has good views on a clear day, best county in Ireland!!!!

Belfast to Derry along the coast. Lunch in Portrush , Either the Ramore or the Harbour.
Then Back up the Main Derry to Belfast Road. 90 ish miles 2Hrs.

What ever you do . AVOID PAYING THE ****ERS at the causeway carpark, turn down left to the
Causeway hotel and have yourself a Coffee , the go and view the causeway.
Its a Sad reality that the Causeway is slowly being turned into a ""Southern" style tourist trap
by the National trust and Coleraine bourough council

Fantastic weather on sunday,followed all your suggestions Ballymoney,Portrush,Causeway(awe inspiring place)round the coast even stopped for fish and chips.Superb area, the couple of shandy's the night before were good too .

You were blessed, Friday & Saturday were shocking. The only time it stopped raining was when I got off the bike to have a quick bite

Glad you enjoyed it though. Next time come on the bike & stay for a few days
