I have acquired a set of spoked wheels - turns out they are from a R1100 RT circa 1996. the part numbers on the rims 36312320014 and 36312320005 show they fit a multitude of different bikes - my question is this... are the hubs all different or would this fit a r1100gs for example? The rims have BEHR on them with the part number and manufacture date of 10/96.

are they limited to R1100RT's then or can they migrate onto a different bike?

any help would be marvellous :) :beerjug:

A spoke in

Never heard of an 1100 RT with spoked wheels, brought mine new in '97 and they wernt listed as an option and I've never seen one amongst the many in the club.

Thanks dave so we know they are off an r1100rt - so ......The front wheels are 18"x2.5 and the rears 17"x4.0 and they fit an r1100 so are 1100 rt wheels same as r wheels and 1100gs wheels ?

Spoked wheels were I believe optional for the R1100RT-P and used in various countries. USA and Australia and perhaps a few other locales.

A spoked RT appeared on Ebay a few months ago.. the seller said they were from a GS.

The police spec test bikes that BMW sent round when the r1100rt came out all had spoked wheels fitted... 18" front and 17" rear. when the first production bikes arrived they had 3 spoke alloys fitted and the sizes were different ie 17" front .

I've seen an r1100gs fitted with an 18" front spoked as well , it was done in the days before the tyre manufacturers started making 19" radial sports/ touring tyres so the owner could put BT21's on the bike with a 110/80 zr 18 front .

My 1100GS has an 18" front wheel and Bt021's on I think. Only problem is I want Tourances and they dont come in 18" !!!

Wanted a dual performance tyre but not sure now what to get, or I may end up buying a 19" front :blast
