What year did the 1150's forks colour change?

Looking at a set of 1150GS forks to fit on my 1100GS. To make this as painless as possible I think I need pre 2001 1150GS forks to carry across the calipers etc.

The forks in question are silver and at some stage the forks seem to have changed to a darker colour, maybe a black. Anyone know what year this colour change happened?

Basically I'm thinking to myself that is all the silver forks are pre 2001 then I'm good. Hardly be that simple though, could it?

Hi, Don't know if it will help but my 2001 1150 has silver forks an brembo calipers! unless someone has painted them! Good luck.

No idea, I was of the opinion that GS had silver/ polished the GSA had the anodiesed purple colour? but RSA did not get many options the Europe got

Just to add to the confusion, my April 2001 1150 has forks with a slight 'blue-ish' tinge to them.

Mine is a September 2002 with ABS BMW brakes (non-servo). The fork legs are blue. Could be mistaken for black when dirty (ie. most of the time )
