Genuine question please.

Registered December 2014.

5,500 miles and just about to be serviced.

Panniers and Nav 5 with the bike. Also BMW driving lights are about to be fitted if I decide not to sell.

I've seen something else that I really quite like and so am think of selling her.

New, she cost just over £16,000 but, as the dealer has nine unsold s/h bikes in stock, they have offered £9,500 for it which seems to me to be a hell of a drop in value.

So what do you think I should ask price wise on a private sale please?

If I do decide to let go, I'll post in the For Sale section.

Cheers all!

Oh and feel free to take the piss etc....

Find someone who has access to glasses guide (or equivalent) and find out what is "top book" price. Add on what you think fair for any farkles.

That's why they call them stealers. You will get plenty of offers at €9550. Done deal might be worth a try. I'd say you will take a hit on it. JJH

I do expect a hit and have no problem with that.

It's just that this seems more than a reasonable hit...

Bad time of year so I would just suck it up if you really want to sell.

Are you talking £'s or Euros?

£s

£13,525.47 plus VAT new.

It's not too bad because it's a company bike, so recovered the VAT.

Don't know if its any help but there's a similar spec bike to yours on autotrader (just less miles) with an asking price of £11995. Private sale.

Have a look on the trader, MCN and flebay to see what they are going for.
Depending on where I sell my bike, depends on whether I leave the extras on or not, and sell them on flebay etc.

sell the nav and panniers seperate

shop around a bit. I got £3k more for my trade in at Vines Guildford over what Park Lane offered lol

It all comes down to how long do you want to wait before you sell it!

Or

Pick a price between £10,000 and £13,000 that you would be happy to get and wait for a punter to come along

Vines has a March 2015 alpine model with 8.7K miles for £12,995. Lop off £1,500 for a private sale = £11,500 or thereabouts. It's one plate newer but has more miles and no luggage so you may be able to stretch to £12,000. Problem for potential buyer compared to going to a dealer is that with your bike it may be 6K service and possibly new tyres, which you will get for free under the approved used guarantee. There's also a lot of GS'es floating around in the dealer network so plenty of choice for a buyer.

13k for a private sale this time of year, sell other bits separately

Dream on ........

Just been into a BMW dealer at lunchtime

I can buy a 13 GS TE for £9k on the screen or a 14 one for £9995 & I bet there would be a deal on some used panniers & nav from another used bike in the showroom for a few hundreds more & recoded to that bike

All with an AUB 1 year warranty & recovery

£13k - not a snowball's chance in hell

I'm getting the 6k mile / 12 month service sorted prior to any sale and, of course, the balance of any warranty goes with the bike.

May try at £11,500.

Cheers
