Whats a fair asking price please GS Alpine White 2014?

Thats my old bike :D on paper i got £11,250 for it, but then after that, negotiated to keep the panniers which i sold at £325, so I got £11,570 really. (and £500 off the GSA ;) ) Vines said they would market it under £13k. I didn't believe them lol

Vines has a March 2015 alpine model with 8.7K miles for £12,995. Lop off £1,500 for a private sale = £11,500 or thereabouts. It's one plate newer but has more miles and no luggage so you may be able to stretch to £12,000. Problem for potential buyer compared to going to a dealer is that with your bike it may be 6K service and possibly new tyres, which you will get for free under the approved used guarantee. There's also a lot of GS'es floating around in the dealer network so plenty of choice for a buyer.

If it is a company bike and you have claimed the VAT back when you bought it, the VAT man will want the VAT off the sale price when you sell it. :blast

Unless you can do some creative accounting. i.e. Sell the farkles and bits on Flebay to get final ticket price down to minimize VAT on the sale, and buy a fully loaded new bike, claim the VAT back. Then the merry go round starts all over again. I'm glad there is no VAT in Gib....... Just import duty. The bastids still get your hard earned.

its only worth what someone will pay. if i was spending close to 12k i would consider a dealer, odds in they will take a PX. have not got to worry about hpi, also have the sale of goods act to protect me. its the wrong time of year to sell to be honest. best advice is to keep it.

U
£s

£13,525.47 plus VAT new.

It's not too bad because it's a company bike, so recovered the VAT.

I'm guessing you had a 100% right down on the value of the bike in tax as well? Will you have to pay vat on the sale price when you sell?

Well if it's any help to you I'm looking at coming back to the GS fold and certainly wouldn't pay over 10k for a private bike having seen what's around in the dealer network.
Dealers also seem very keen to do deals at the moment so sticker prices seem quite negotiable.

I hope that doesn't offend and I'm not trying to make an offer but just letting you know how a punters mind might be working.

I'm getting the 6k mile / 12 month service sorted prior to any sale and, of course, the balance of any warranty goes with the bike.

May try at £11,500.

Cheers

Still think that's optimistic, sadly

Today BMW have announced a £590 finance deposit contribution or a £590 free accessories voucher across the used stock, together with a 5.9% APR finance offer

There's never been a better time to buy a used approved bike at the moment from a BMW dealer

Finance below 6% APR and £590 to spend on BMW goodies, with used prices already competitive

I'd keep yours, the market is awash with used R1200GS TE's at the moment

No offence taken, Chester Motorrad have nine s/h ones for sale currently.

Presumably the selling price will have to be inclusive of VAT on any sale.

I don't mind if it sells or not, just fancy a change soon'ish.

Logically it's the ideal bike for me but I tend to go for heart over head every time.

Same issue with my cars

Judging by the amount of secondhand GS's about there was alot of disappointed owners which in turn will hit all GS owners!

Just given away a 2015 GSTE with wire wheels, gear shift assist, spot lights with 3000 miles for less than £12k. Dealers are awash with GS's.

I was initially offered £9900 and £10500 for mine as a px. in late september by two BMW dealers. Bike stood me at about £14k. March 2014 TE with panniers and 10k miles. I got a bit more in the end. Can't help thinking it will be hard to shift esp this time of year as there's loads about.

I would keep it if you've spent 16k...no point giving it away.

Cannons have a black te with keyless quickshifter and about 800 miles with panniers for £12500 as jb says £600 deposit contribution as well.

Is it not about time Nutty came in with his rock solid residuals speel ? ;)

Haha

They're just not selling

Funnily enough the older air cooled up to MY13 12 GS & GSA were not far off or over WC GS prices in the 2 BMW dealers I have been into this week
