Where can i get it ... and can you download it from the net FOC ?

I need it apparently to successfully log in to another website. AOL keeps wiping me out :nenau

Can anybody help ?

edit: maybe I should have posted this in the computer section (sorry)

It's a browser alternative to Explorer or Safari (Mac).

I use it on my Windows laptop and like it a lot, especially the tabbed browsing facility.

You can turn off popups etc. and the browser is less likely to attack compared with Explorer.

And, yes it is free. :D

The first thing you could do is to stop using AOL software anyway. Firefox is available free from HERE :)

Karen I use firefox instead of window explorer, I like the way you can do the tabbed browing and that is the limit of my technological speak. :D :D

i have been using mozilla firefox for both my internet and my mail

(the email is called mozilla thunderbird and it is also free)

i find it easier to use than any other system i have tried, i particularly like the bookmarks option

Thank you all for your help ...

But not you enabb ... ;) trouble maker you are :D

Been using it for 2 days - very impressed. As others hve said, the tabs and bookmarks are genuinely useful. :clap

The installation process was also very slick - all of my IE preferences, history and favourites were imported. Mozilla has clearly though very carefulyl about this.

Bye bye IE.

I'll have a go at downloading it tonight, see how I get on with it.

Thanks again :)

So love this forum for all the advice you get, its great :thumb (apart from Fanum's :P )

I tried it a few days ago but it seemed slower, especialy putting those little pictures up on the top of this page. Also I like to have my favourites open so I can easily flip from one to another, can this be done with bookmarks?

Finally what are the advantages of one over the other? Would it be worthwhile persevering with Firefox?

Yes. There is a bookmark toolbar just above the tabs and below the normal toolbar. In a page you want to bookmark, got to Bookmarks > Bookmark this page > Create in Bookmarks Toolbar.

In terms of Firefox vs IE, a big factor is personal preference. The tabs does is for me, saves having to go back down to the foot of the screen and click on IE to identify what you've got open.I also find the bookmarks better than the Favourites list.

IMHO, of course. ;)
