Just had the bike serviced,
noticed i got charged for the loan bike, a twin spark 650,
should've payed me to ride it :P.
Service was as good as ever but have never been charged for a loan bike before. things are changing :(

+ wheres Wally i hope all is well ?

what did they charge you?

when i booked mine in they said there'd be a charge, but it was something stupid like a fiver and to bring it back with a full tank (cos it goes out with one).

Wally is back now but seems to spend a lot more time upstairs. He's taken on a new bloke by the name of Neil as a service manager and Darren is the workshop superviser.

The service is as good as ever but just a bit of a change to cope with the high turnover. I think they have just started the £5 for a loan bike system, I don't think it's too bad, they have to put a load of bikes out on loan at their cost and at the end of the day, I would rather pay a £5 and not have to take a day off work to get the bike tested.

I heard he'd been put in charge of the warranties,
so when the 1200 arrives i'll be seeing him on a regular basis
:P .

I think they pay you a fiver to ride a loan CS ;)

It's probably to cover the cost of insurance, we're doing the same thing as our own insurance excess is now £10K! and charging a small 'premium' through a dedicated insurer brings the excess down to a more reasonable £250!

First service I had done at CW's, the loan bike was free. It was also a very elderly K75 of dubious cosmetic status. (I have no doubt it was road worthy).

At the last service I paid a fiver, and got a F650 with less than 500 miles on the clock.

Seems like value for money to me :)

Just about to get my wife's 650 serviced at CW. £5 for the loan bike sounds good to me as the last time I got one from SPC they charged me £20 for it! Also I only found out after Andy let slip whilst I was picking mine up.

So far CW seem to have been really helpful. Here's hoping they stay that way on the day.
