Whats my bike worth GS800

Possibly thinking of selling my GS800 might move up to a GS1200
Bike as below:
March 2009
Black & Yellow
3700 miles
Showroom condition
ABS
Computer
Centre Stand
BMW Top Box
Adventure Spec Engine Guard & Sump Guard
Scott oiler
New chain set BMW Recall
Full BMW service history
Bike kept in garage

Just want an idea what it may be worth?

Im thinking the same......

very similar speck to yours and up to a 1200 but would prefer 1200 Adv.

Local dealer said part Ex would be around £5500 depending on what I buy, and advised up to £6500 if selling privately, expecting to drop to £6250 ish to seal a deal

Im sure some will advise to sell some of the bits seperately and reduce the price of the bike

I would pop down to your dealer and have a chat with them but also have a quick look on autotrader and ebay to see whats up for sale at the mo to give an indication of the market prices.

Guys just look 4 posts down Stuart Os bike is up for sale at offers around the £5300 mark I know its not got ABS but its got a host of goodies on it, I sold mine last year 09 plate after owning it for 3 months paid £7695.00 dealer offered me £5250 on it against a new 1000RR my bike had 2.5k miles on it and all the BMW extras incl ABS, sold it privatly got £5800 for it

Im interested in another one and have emailed him to view when he is back in the UK

I am looking at doing the same thing. Mine was reg April 09 got less than 3k miles on it. Although at the moment is has a BMW lowering kit on it, but i do have the original springs.

my 800 is great its the perfect bike for me, i just fancy trying a 1200 again as i had one before, but they are very expensive at present as i would like a 2008 onwards model with ABS.

I've recently been test riding bikes ( triumph 800XC & BMW 1200GSA)
with a view to updating my 1150GSA

Careful what you wish for

I've ridden the BMW800 and can see why you may want to move on up

I agree with the 'valuations' as above re the 800's and its a buyers market at present

Kendo, the 800s are a wonderful bike and I have been more than happy with mine


..Its just that Simon Pavey got me to ride his adventure and it spoiled me.

I have been hankering for 18 months now and this year will be the year for my change.

They must really dislike them - they all seem to be under 3K miles in 2 years - never been out of garage. I'd be careful of paying all the extra cash to go up to a 1200 if I was only doing that sort of mileage.

It's a fantastic bike. I don't miss my old bikes at all (that's including the 2004 R1200GS). Sure I could have more power, but once I hit the tarmac, I'm happy to just cruise the distances. 90mph is fast enough.
