I've been on a few websites and they differ in what is required for bikers to ride in Germany and france. In france I think you need a breathalyser plus all documentation. But do you need a high viz. Any help would be appreciated

The part about reflective stickers on helmets is not correct on the link. That only applies to helmets bought in France.

Neither is the brethalyser
At the risk of dragging this out. I thought you are required to carry a breathalyser but there is no fine for failure to carry it.

The rule was introduced after lobbying by a man who owned one of 2 companies in France that made them.

Exactly so. Nobody, but nobody has a breathalyser in France. I don't even know if you can still buy them.

Down in France now ... no breathalyser, no dayglo, no stickers on my helmet, no sense and no idea :D

In early January of this year, we advised all our readers that the current French Interior Minister, Manuel Valls, had decided to scrap his predecessor’s ludicrous proposals for all motorcyclists to wear any form of reflective clothing while riding their motorbike or scooter. Unfortunately, there has been for some time another (stupid) piece of legislation forcing all bikers in France, whether residents or visitors, to wear a helmet with reflective stickers on, and this one has not been scrapped. Bikers caught wearing a helmet without stickers may face a 135 euros fine payable on the spot and 3 points taken off their licence. The police have recently been enforcing this rule quite severely in Paris and other locations throughout France.

but..

JtheB's opinion: Although the police in Paris and a few other locations throughout France have been applying this rule quite severely this year (2013) and fining bikers up to 135€, these appear to be very local initiatives. In the main, the French police generally have much more important things to do than stop bikers riding legally to check their crash helmets. Unless, you're:
a. Planning to ride in Paris and/or
b. Going to ride like a complete idiot...
the chances of you being fined for not wearing the appropriate reflective (not hi-viz) stickers by some over-zealous and misguided gendarme are, to be frank, very slim indeed. We don't know of anyone who's encountered this problem: we'd be very interested to speak to anyone who has. So quit worrying about it!

Soo....forget it!

About as likely as a taxi driver being done for not having a bale of hay in his cab.
