What's that part next to the oil filter :-)

Hi all,

Next to the oil filter on an F800GS, there a box and it looks like a seals gone. What is the box called? Assume it can be removed and the seal changed?

It's a heat exchanger and the preformed seal behind it is available as a separate part on realOEM.com parts microfiche. Look under cooling parts.
