Hey tossers,
Whats the best BMW System 5 or a Schubert C2 ?

Have a system 5... Wouldn't get another.
I wouldn't get seduced by a cheap one either.

Hein gericke are now advertising the C2 for £199

I liked the look of the new System 6.. No idea of pricing yet.

Very subjective question ...

... and akin to asking 'which beer' is best, all you'll get is opinions and what suits one won't suit (or fit) another so go and try them both on and tell us which suits you :nenau

I had a Sys5, now using a Shoei MultiTech. The fit and finish of the Sys5 is excellent, and it was quieter than the MultiTech; that said, I'm glad I didn't buy another System5 as mine suffered from a (design ?) fault that meant it leaked badly thru the forehead vent and down the inside of the visor. They seem a tighter fir, size-for-size compared to the Shoei. Variable thickness cheekpad options mean you can get a very sung fit in the MultiTech.

Spend a bit of time searching for MultiTech V System5 or something like that and you will see lots of opinions ...........

Good luck!

I had a Schuberth C2 but had to replace it due to dropping it. I chose to replace it with a System 5, which is a better helmet ,for me, than the C2.

The System 6 retails at £325 against £449 (in Hein Gericke) for the C3.

system 6

Was in Joe Duffy's last week and they have Henry Ford's reputed choice of colours in the 6. If memory serves they mentioned a figure of about €500 for it but that could have been €600!!
I've had a schuberth (C1 I think) and currently a Sys 5. Both good helmets although the 5 is a better fit for me. I do miss the sun visor though. The Sys 5 is reasonably quiet, but only with visor and all vents closed. If I was changing, I think I'd buy a Schuberth. Probably cheaper and made in the same factory.

At the moment the system 5 and the schubert C2 are retailing around the same price. I have Arai Tour X and was just thinking of a change . I think some more research is required . Thanks everyone for the input..

Thought you already had the best helmet??? :)

I've a System 5 and I've stopped using it. Tried a demo one from the dealer and liked it but novelty wore off very quick after I bought one. Helmets are a personal choice and lots of riders are happy with their System 5s. I suppose it depends on type of bike, height of screen, height of rider, tolerance for wind noise etc etc.

Pidcocks are doing the System 5 for about £195 at the moment.

Nothing wrong with the tour x . just thought about a change.
Although with the present recession. and the impending government bail out disguised as a budget.I might have to hold off on any purchases..
