This is probably a bit of a moot point, because i'm going to do one going up one way and coming back another (unless it pours down, then i'm taking the fastest route home!)

I could do with a bit of advice on heading north from Glasgow on the A82, is it a 'better' biking route to:

  • Stay on the A82 all the way to Glen Coe,
  • Pick up the A83 at Tarbet and head North-West to Inveraray, before cutting north to the A85 then following the coast all the way to Glen Coe
  • Continue up the A82 to Tyndrum, then heading west on the A85 and picking up the coast road as above.

Bike's packed, just need to get some waterproof over trousers when the shop opens at 9am. Then i'm off!

Cheers
Mike

Take the ferry from Gourock to Dunoon, that way you are on the best roads quickest.

Whichever bit you miss out this time just do it next time :D

Enjoy regardless.

Blairgowrie, Glen Shee, Tomintoul, Aviemore, Kingussie, Spean Bridge

Use the old road from Aviemore to Kingussie avoiding the A9

Then follow the west coast back down

If i was planning that i would make sure i got the A86 into it somehow as it is a great bit of road
