What's the best you have used?

Hi folks,

So, what bike cleaner is the best you have ever used?

Read a lot of reviews of Sdoc100, anyone tried it?

My bike is a disgrace, I have used it everyday for the 50 mile daily commute to work all winter and I am just wondering what would be the best thing to use to get off all that liberally applied ACF50?

Any help appreciated.

Did my GS this morning, that AFC50 is a sod to get off, I used Gunk spray and an assortment of brushes...did the trick, not sure if it's the best, but it works.

I have to say never failed with Muc Off.... and the jet hose... even on the car too!!!

I have used muc off and must say it was useless, maybe did not leave it on long enough?

Having used most things I now only use the SDOC sprays. Spray it on, leave it for 5 minutes, then hose it off. I've used both the gel and the standard liquid, and both work great. Its not overly cheap, but it saves loads of effort and leaves a streak-free finish, so I'm not too fussed by the cost.

Edited to add I've given up with Muc Off too. Crap compared to SDOC 100.

The off road school use Castrol GreenTec. It's good, if a bit pricy. SDoc100 is better but £££.

I use cheap car cleaner and a pump sprayer from B&Q. Brush it in, wash it off.

sdoc100 is great but expensive. Don't even have to wash the bike generally as it rids the dirt oils so well. I di find that mucoff wasbetter at getting rid of spots of oil on the rear wheel (chain driven bikes not GS).
Used sdoc100 otherday for first time on my new GS and used a lot; many nooks and crannies...

Try using Scottoiler instead of ACF50, much easier to get off

But less persistent protection as it comes off every time it's wet. (I use both ).

SDOC100 - expensive but excellent and non corrosive. BMW have said use of Muc-Off automatically voids corrosion claims.

I dilute SDoc100 gel 1:4 to use as a general cleaner. Needs a little extra brushing than when neat but still better than anything else I have tried. Just done my spring clean to remove 5 months of crud on top of ACF50 and bike has come up a treat.

But, alas it's no longer available due to H&S safety rules. I did manage to buy all the available stock at my local supplier at the time, and have three bottles left.

During the winter i rode through some "stuff" which coated the bike in little tiny dots never did find out what it was.

I spent hours with all sorts trying to get them of and spent £50 on cleaning chemicals and more on elbow grease loads of em

Then discovered by accident, took them off without even trying

Just ordered SDOC and got a BOGOF offer - will give it a whirl next weekend!

09/10 was my first full Winter commuting every day on a GSA and the first time I've used ACF50. From what I can see that isn't caked in horrible black filth, it seems to have kept the corrosion away - dead impressed - except for on the brake disc "inner sections", just mild rust there but should come off ok.

Cheers for the info - will use SDOC next week and get the bike scrubbed up.

Quick follow up re. RS Bike Paint - they have replied to an enquiry I made about Magma Red:

"If you are able to supply us with a small sample of the paint (eg flake from the damaged area), then we can mix this for you, no problem. It only takes a couple of days".
