What's the biggest card that will work in a 2610?

I currently have a 2Gb CF card in my 2610, which took all of City Navigator V7. As I like the idea of downloading the lot and forgetting about it, I tried to do the same with V10 (City Navigator 2008) but got a message saying that the data was now "over 4Gb".

If I was to get a bigger CF card, does anyone know if the unit will accept it? I have a vague memory of someone saying that the 2610 wouldn't work with cards bigger than 2Gb.

I believe some people have managed to get a 4GB working.

I don't know how computers etc work, but with CF cards etc is it the unit itself that limits the max capacity or is it the software on the unit?

If it's the software, then would upgrading that (which I've already done to the latest available) allow me to use a bigger card?
