I have owned my 1200GS for two weeks now and assumed that the square substantial bracket which is attached to the underside of the pipe leading into the Remus silencer was there for the Centre stand to rest against when in the ‘up’ position.

I noticed today when it was on the side stand that the centre stand goes nowhere near the bracket!! Please enlighten me and tell me what it is for!!

I can't see the picture, but maybe the bracket is for pre 2006 bikes centre stand?

Looks like I will have to learn how to attach a picture now!!

Was there a different stand fitted to the pre 2006 bikes?

It was for the bump stop on the centre stand on pre 06 bikes,as it serves no purpose on the 06 bike I took an angle grinder to it-in the interest of further weight saving you understand

removed the silencer and ground it off this morning, polished up the wee bit weld left - all nice and shiny. :)
