Hi

A friend of mine is feeling a bit shackled in life, really wants to throw off his chains, so to speak. He feels his weekends are locked down before he even starts. But he fancies doing a bit of trailing, tho' worried he wont get past the first hurdle.

He wants to unload but feels there is something that will stop him. I have told him its time to unlock himself from these thoughts but still he feels there's something missing.

Clive, as a seasoned, experienced campaigner I thought I might turn to you for words of wisdom, and advice, on what makes a great days trail riding. What's the real key to it all.

Hate to say it you missed a great days riding.

Oh, and thanks for the sweets...

All the best guys,

M

PS for DaveG - I got up the snarly b*stard hill...

Just,

took a bit of leg work tho!

Yep, Clives definatley seasoned, well weathered,:aidan

Very good, although I thought I was reading a page from the agony aunt column to begin with!

By the way, a new side stand for my bike is £80 !!!!!! :ronno

Pick the old one up from the local welder tomorrow :beerjug:

Bloody bike....... It obviously knew what was coming on the trails and didn't fancy it. Thank God electric start started to work again during the ride - can't kick it left footed.

For me a great days riding is:

Being out with friends who are always willing to give you a hand. (lets cut it off):beerjug:
Being willing to have a go at anything that comes up. Its the only way to learn.
Don,t be to stuck up your own arse about breaking your bike. It,ll mend. But chains are too expensive to cut.
Always take sweeties with you for the afternoon when the tiredness creeps in.:thumb2
Always take keys for any locks you may be using. Be prepared to get laughed at and pictures taken of your predicament.:augie

That is the KEY to my success

Clive, you're a good sport.

I would have got really snotty about it, if it were me...., but then I was the one who started the Cambrian two years ago with my fuel tap shut off - Which I clearly remember you found hilarious.

And if I remember correctly I was just a tad faster than yourself over the specials.

You have managed to get a touch quicker in your old age.

What time on Sunday?? Park where??
