Well, as for Mull, I've been trying to go there every year since the Tour of Mull has been a stage rally event. I think that is twenty years now? Only missed two events in that time.
A really good week, no trouble, great local folk, really friendly.
Favorite pubs are The Mishnish, The MacDonald Arms both in Tobe, and The Bellachroy in Dervaig. That new boozer next to MacKay's Garage is fecking crap, but it keeps all the numpties out of the decent pubs during rally week.
I try to spectate during the event, although over the years I have mechaniced for a few lads and lasses doing the event.
Well worth a visit, though finding accommodation during the October event is very difficult. We roll over our Tobe High Street guest house every year. It's like dead man's shoes...........

It's "Tob" tae the Muilleachs and I've been going since the days it was a road rally event organised by the 2300 Club. So there.....

Aye - maybe. I've been trying, in fits and starts, to interest folks in a Moto Tour of Mull, for a few years now. Since there's already a precedent for closing the roads and anything that extends the touroid season has, traditionally, been welcomed with open arms.
I took a WR200 Yam enduro up there one year, and let's just say, I found some very very interesting trails, one of which I nearly didn't make it out of....
Apart from the midgees in Summer, I wouldn't mind to visit when the rally folk aren't there.

I'm not going to take a bike back there- first time some knob in a 4x4 had us off on a blind bend on a single track road.
Second time we slid off some slippy rocks and into the mud.

Den.....If your in Tob(??) and fancy a wee walk to buid up your appetite
beer - there a nice wee path leaves the town at the north end of the eplanade just before the slip for the small ferry to Ardnamurchan(summer only?) the path goes up to the left just past the lifeboat shop? through the trees and goes along the cliff-top and out to the lighthouse' with great veiws over to Ardnamurchan etc
Somebody slagged the pub at the south end of Tob next to the distillery & Mackay's Garage - I don't think it's that bad? - it's been good anytime I've been in, and the foods usually good - might be a reasonable bet at this time of year for someplace to eat??.
In fact the guy that was one of the original partners that built and opened that pub is a biker and used to have a GS!! - he also had a shop in Tob - he bought pub in Oban last I heard - what a load of useless info that is!

Lovely weekend. Cottage right on the loch. Lying in bed with a cupocoffee and one of these views across a completely glassy loch where the hills and their reflections in the water are identical is priceless.
As for the chip van in Tobermory with the 6 quid fish supper .... forget it. It was mingin. Fish was tasteless and chips probably come out a packet.
Drove north up the west coast to Tobermory and didnt come across a single vehicle in 50 miles ... amazing !
Down to the bottom, towards Iona, disappointed to be met by at least 3 cars coming the other way.
