What's the tallest aftermarket screen available for the 1200GS LC?

I know screens have been done to death.......but does anyone here know what the tallest aftermarket screen is that's available for the 1200GS LC?
I've got a Puig touring screen at the moment, the one without the additional wind deflector, and the wind hits the top of my helmet and is NOISEY!!
I'm 6"5" tall so I appreciate I'm going to struggle.
My previous 1200GS, an 09 plate, had a Nippy Norman super high wide screen and that worked well.
Any advice from someone of a similar height would be much appreciated.

Buy the additional wind deflector for the one you've got. Apparently they work wonders. :nenau

Be careful - taller screens have been known to snap the BMW mounts due to excessive strain that was not accounted for in the original screen. if you can find one, it should have additional 'fixed' stays to cope with the extra strain. I have the Puig touring screen on mine - its as tall as I would dare to go without additional fixed bracing
 
The previous owner, fitted the Puig screen, and also fitted additional screen supports.
 
I have the Puig with the extra screen deflector and at 6' 3" works for me on the lowest settings so have a look at adding the deflector and see if that works for you ;)

 
I also have the additional wind deflector on a Puig touring screen which is at the lowest setting, and at 6'2" have to stand up by several inches before I feel the wind blast.
 
Thanks for the replies. It looks like I'll be ordering a Puig wind deflector on Monday. One question though, they do two, one that is fitted by screws, and one that clips on. Which is the best one to go for? If it is clamped on, isn't it easy for someone to steal while the bike's parked up?
 
Mine came with the screen, and that had holes already drilled. Knowing that mine came with a template for drilling holes in any new screen, I'd happily consider drilling it. If you don't plan to sell the main screen on its own, drilling holes and screwing the wind deflector to it has to be the better option.

Personally I would go with the screw fitted one - more secure etc and will come with a template so easy to drill the holes in the correct location.

Can someone point me to a website that sell those Puig side wind deflectors?

hey Paul,

Do you have the puig support holding that screen up, or is it just standard GSA screen mount? I almost bought one of these screens, but couldn't find anywhere that sold the support arm, so chickened out.

You'll definitely want support for the screen otherwise the wind puts huge pressure on the existing mounts. I've got the Cymarc brackets and they do the job:

What are they like on a day to day basis? I raise / lower the screen a couple of times per journey. I presume you undo the knobs then adjust as normal and do the knobs back up? Or do the brackets create a bit of resistance when moving the screen up and down with wind pressure?

Firstly, the brackets are rock solid and the screen doesn't move at all once they are fitted and tightened. In theory you could undo the locking knobs and then move the screen while on the move, but the metal on metal of the brackets means that even at a standstill you really need 2 hands to do it easily. On the move the pressure from the wind is such that I believe damage to the bike's screen adjustment mechanism could be possible; I don't know what the gears are made of, and may be worrying needlessly though. The larger screen really does generate noticeably more resistance, and you can feel it through the adjustment knob when on the move (I know because I bought and fitted the screen before realising that some brackets would be essential).

I'm 6'2" and used the stock GSA screen at different heights, but mostly the tallest setting. With the Puig screen and wind deflector I have it set at the lowest setting and have not had any need to move it. I've tried it at different heights but it starts to encroach on your vision and gives no noticeable benefit. I went back to the original screen for a couple of weeks to rediscover the natural feel, and hated it!
