Fiddling about in the screen area, disturbed this ... then looked for somewhere to plug it back in... nothing's obvious:confused:

its cable tied along the screen strut..

looks like the can bus socket for plugging the sat nav in,
take it all the clocks/lights are working properly?
have you had the bike since new? prev owner may have routed the cable up and round from the headstock?

Only had it a few weeks... everything working:thumb

is a different colour to the canbus plug, but is more than likely an extended can bus power socket for something, like the bmw sat nav,
got a similar arangement on mine although more of a "cowboy" set up as done myself
check the left hand side of the head stock and tucked away in there should be a canbus socket blacked off and cable tired to the rest of the bundle wires,
if its not there try following the route of the wire and see where it ends up.... never know, you might have a "special" gs!

Thanks for the replies... I'll do a bit of investigating .....It'd be a good place to power the FPC work around from :D

That plug is the Sat Nav power feed for a Tom Tom Rider. Check for the extra cabling at the battery :thumb2

I can confirm that the lead you found is the power supply for a Tom Tom Rider........

I just compared your photo with a spare Tom Tom lead that I had lying around.........

Sorry my camera is out of battery but if you would like me to post some pics to put your mind as ease I will when the battery is charged

Cheers

If it is the TomTom lead (seems likely) it must be powered somehow. Is it still live?

If it is, you could use it for powering something else, if your Garmin is already powered.

If nothing else, cap or tape the ends off. You probably don't want water and grot going down it.

Thanks ... I'll get it sealed off :thumb
